🐾 22 Puppies, One Incredible Journey: What an Amazing Puppy Cycle! 🐾

What happens when you combine 16 adorable Mini Aussiedoodles, 6 beautiful Mini Bernedoodles, a whole lot of love, classical music, puppy training, socialization, tiny wagging tails, and more puppy kisses than we could ever count? 🐶💕🐾

You get one of the most incredible puppy cycles we have ever experienced at Home Sweet Home Doodles LLC! 🏡❤️

This cycle brought us 22 precious puppies, and watching them grow from tiny newborns into confident, playful little personalities has been an experience we will never forget.

And believe us... raising 22 puppies is definitely NOT boring! 😂🐶🐶🐶

Every single day brought something new.

From the moment these babies entered the world, our goal wasn't simply to raise cute puppies. We wanted to give each one the strongest possible foundation before they left our home for their forever families. ❤️

🎶 It All Started With a Little Beethoven...

During those first quiet days of life, our puppies spent most of their time doing what newborn puppies do best:

🐾 Sleeping
🐾 Nursing
🐾 Snuggling with Mom
🐾 Growing
🐾 And somehow getting cuter every single day!

Their environment started out peaceful and calm, including exposure to soft classical music such as Beethoven. 🎼🐶

As their ears began developing and their awareness of the world increased, we gradually introduced them to more everyday sounds.

The world isn't always quiet, and we don't want our puppies' first experience with normal household noises to happen after they leave us.

So little by little, their world became more interesting. ❤️

Voices. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
Music. 🎵
Doors opening and closing.
Household noises. 🏠
People moving around.
Different sounds, volumes, and experiences.

The goal wasn't to overwhelm them—it was to allow them to experience the world gradually, positively, and at an age-appropriate pace.

🧠 Tiny Puppies With Growing Minds

One of the things we love about raising puppies is watching their brains develop right along with their bodies.

During the early stages, we incorporated Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and gentle handling exercises.

That means our puppies experienced appropriate forms of touch, handling, positioning, and mild sensory experiences during their early development. 🐾

They weren't just being held because they're adorable—although there was PLENTY of that! 😂❤️

They were learning that human touch is safe.

They experienced having their paws touched. 🐾
Their ears handled. 👂
Their little bodies gently held and examined.
Different positions and sensations.
Individual attention away from their littermates.

Those tiny experiences begin introducing puppies to something incredibly important:

The world can be a safe and interesting place. 🌎❤️

📚 Growing Up With Puppy Culture

As the weeks passed, we followed principles from the Puppy Culture program and workbook.

Puppy Culture focuses on developmentally appropriate experiences during the important early socialization period. Rather than throwing every possible experience at a puppy at once, the idea is to watch the puppy's developmental stage and introduce appropriate experiences when the puppy is ready for them. 🧠🐶

That meant our puppies' world kept getting bigger!

As they became more mobile and curious, we introduced:

✨ New toys
✨ Different textures
✨ Different surfaces
✨ New objects
✨ Gentle challenges
✨ Human interaction
✨ Individual attention
✨ Play with littermates
✨ New sounds
✨ Opportunities to explore and investigate

One of our favorite things to watch is that moment when a puppy encounters something completely new. 🥹

They may stop.

They may stare at it.

They may sniff it.

They may back up for a second.

Then curiosity takes over...

And suddenly they're climbing over it like they've owned it their entire life! 😂🐾

Those little moments are a huge part of growing up.

Puppies begin their critical socialization period at approximately three weeks of age, when their senses, mobility, curiosity, and interaction with the world really begin developing. Positive exposure during these early weeks can help puppies become more adaptable as they continue growing.

🚪 Then Came the Doggy Door!

Eventually, these tiny babies who once couldn't even walk were running around like they owned the place. 😂

That's when another chapter began:

🚽 POTTY TRAINING!

We started teaching them that there is a difference between their sleeping/play area and their potty area.

Then came one of our favorite milestones...

Learning the doggy door! 🚪🐶💨

Watching a puppy figure out a doggy door for the first time is hilarious.

Some charge straight through.

Some stick their head through and stop.

Some watch another puppy do it first.

And some seem to look at us like:

"You seriously expect me to walk through THAT?" 😂😂

But eventually...

OUT THEY GO! 🌳🐾

Our puppies began learning to go outside to potty and developing those early habits that their new families can continue working on at home.

Are they perfectly house-trained at eight weeks old? Of course not!

They're babies. ❤️

But giving them an introduction to the concept gives their families a wonderful place to start.

🏡 Crates Aren't Scary Either!

We also introduced crate training.

Instead of a crate suddenly appearing for the first time after a puppy leaves everything familiar behind, we want our puppies to have positive early experiences around crates.

They learn to investigate them.

Go inside.

Relax.

Rest.

And understand that a crate can be a comfortable, safe place. 💤🐶

That foundation can make the transition into their new homes much easier when their families continue the training.

🧘‍♀️🐶 AND THEN... PUPPIES & YOGA HUNTSVILLE!

Just when these puppies thought life couldn't possibly get any more exciting...

They went to Puppies & Yoga Huntsville! 🧘‍♀️🐾❤️

Talk about socialization!

Our puppies got the opportunity to participate in puppy yoga classes where they experienced new people, new smells, a completely different environment, lots of gentle interaction, and LOTS of attention.

And let's be serious...

We aren't completely sure how much yoga actually happened. 😂😂

Because when you put a room full of people on yoga mats and release adorable Mini Aussiedoodles and Mini Bernedoodles...

The puppies tend to become the instructors. 🐶🧘‍♀️

"Downward dog?"

We had that covered. 😂

"Child's pose?"

Perfect opportunity for puppy kisses! 💋🐶

Trying to hold a yoga position while a puppy climbs into your lap?

Good luck! 😂

For us, though, Puppy Yoga was about more than having fun.

It gave our puppies another opportunity to meet different people and experience an environment completely different from home.

New voices.
New hands.
New smells.
New surroundings.
Lots of positive interaction. ❤️

And our little crew LOVED IT.

❤️ This Is Why We Do What We Do

There were early mornings.

There were late nights.

There was laundry...

SO. MUCH. LAUNDRY. 😂🧺

There were puppy pads.

There were toys everywhere.

There were barking puppies.

There were sleeping puppies.

There were puppies climbing over other puppies.

There were 22 little mouths to feed and 88 little paws running around. 🐾🐾🐾🐾

But there were also thousands of puppy kisses.

There were tiny tails wagging when they saw us.

There were puppies learning something new for the very first time.

There were families falling in love.

And there was the incredible privilege of watching these puppies grow from tiny newborns into the happy little companions they were becoming. ❤️

🏡 More Than Raising Puppies

At Home Sweet Home Doodles LLC, located in Albertville, Alabama, our goal is to give our Mini Aussiedoodles and Mini Bernedoodles more than food, shelter, and veterinary care.

We want them to experience life. 🌎🐶

We want them handled.

We want them loved.

We want them challenged appropriately.

We want them introduced to training.

We want them exposed to new experiences.

And most importantly...

We want them to leave our home knowing that people are pretty amazing. ❤️

Because someday these little puppies may become someone's best friend.

Someone's running partner. 🏃‍♂️🐕

Someone's child's favorite playmate. 👧🐶

Someone's emotional support companion. ❤️

Someone's couch buddy. 🛋️

Someone's travel partner. 🚗

Or simply the dog waiting at the door every afternoon because their favorite person finally came home.

And THAT is why all those early weeks matter so much to us.

It's hard to believe that the tiny puppies who started life listening to soft Beethoven eventually learned to explore, play, use the doggy door, go outside to potty, experience crates, meet new people, participate in Puppy Yoga, and prepare for an entirely new adventure.

Their next chapter is the biggest one of all...
